New materials are important drivers of innovation in design. In recent years, concerns about sustainability have led to the development of unconventional substances including biologically degradable plastic, leather from fish skin or material made of mycelium fungus. What possibilities do these and other materials hold for creators, users and manufacturers? These are the questions the designers Christien Meindertsma and Maurizio Montalti will discuss with experts from the field of material innovation including Eva Höfli, innovation specialist and designer at the designfabrik® of BASF. The event is organized as part of a collaboration with Het Nieuwe Instituut (NL). Free admission
